Yup, fair point, you'd definitely want to try before you buy.otisredding wrote:
I've personally never played a 'good' late 70s Strat. Everyone I've played was heavy and frankly bloody awful. Maybe I've just been unlucky but I have played a lot of 'em..

Re: Fender Roadworn series = thumbs up
Decent late 70s strats have been selling for around the $2500 mark, looking at the rockshop site the rrp on the Road Worns is similar. I picked up my S9 serial strat for $1600 last year, though to be fair it's more 'dragged along the road' than road worn =) Resale value wise too I think an older gui...

Re: Fender Roadworn series = thumbs up
They do look pretty cool, I checked them out on the Fender site a few weeks ago...but it doesn't overcome my basic feeling of wrongness of faking age and wear on a guitar. I just don't get it, why not buy a genuinely worn and loved second hand guitar?

I really like Province, it's got a real cool Bowieness to it. And the chick in the video was crazy hot (*sob sob Alt TV*).foal30 wrote:I think TV on the Radio is relevant to what we may consider pop music in the next 5 years.
Is that on topic?
What other tracks should I check out?

Re: Tele? strat? both?
I can't stop thinking about that thing...I've got an old Jagmaster that might get the telemaster / jazzcaster treatment. Only tricky thing will be the pickguard.ash wrote:The Jazzmaster/Tele one comes together so much more ... rightly, if you know what I mean

That is SUPER cool, I really like it, especially that finish. Only improvement I can think of is a big ass cbs headstock.

Re: Elixir
If you can't find any elixir single 9s and get stuck flick me a PM, I can do you a 6 pack of Ernie Ball ones for $9.50 + postage.
But yeah, sounds crazy that you go through so many. I can't honestly remember the last time I broke a string and I'm a punky thrasher!

Re: Best of..... The Smiths
I liked Vauxhall and I and Southpaw Grammar, they were pretty good and still get the odd listen but for me the later albums got progressively less interesting. But maybe it's just I'm getting older and not a 17 year old any more!

Yeah, it's a bit of a nightmare as we live pretty close to the venue. Getting kids to sleep with constant boom-boom-boom all night is a bit challenging! Looks like the weather will be ok later in the week.rocklander wrote:u guys got that rhythm & vines gig coming up haven't ya? rain could be a bummer on that
