NGD '14 ES 330

It arrived last week per USPS International Parcel Post which turned out to be efficient in the end. These guitars are no longer in production because they're nowhere near as popular as the 335s. To me however for the styles I play it's a perfect guitar, much lighter in weight and with a crisper mor...

Re: Advice wanted: Gibson r8

It actually isn't the one listed by Chopper... it was this one here (that went unsold and presently has an fixed price offer of 4800 up): https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/music-instruments/instruments/guitar-bass/electric-guitars/listing/4187050947?archive=1&bof=z511papb Buy this one, it...

Got my JTM45 from him in 2006 however I changed the transformers to Marstrans, the stock ones are okay though.
For my tastes, Marshtran and KT66s are the JTM45 special sauce.

Yep that's the formula for success alright, it's a real beauty.

Re: First time ever

Signed sealed and finally delivered, thank God for that. It's not hard to love P90s, clearer/crisper than hummers in the neck and middle positions and 'tele on steroids' in the bridge. Will post pics in the next few days. Neck not quite as fat as I would have liked but has the width to cover that to...

Re: First time ever

Shipped a few guitars with USPS over the last decade and never had an issue. As I found out today, there are no emails from NZ Post or prompts from them or the USPS tracking system to tell you that your package has passed through NZ Customs and is due for payment of GST or otherwise. You've got to ...

Re: First time ever

My most recent arrival, the Strat, took a month all up from shipping to arrival to me. Took 4 days to clear NZ customs. NZ Customs seem under the pump right now. Not sure why. NZ Post website claims less flights arriving are backlogging Customs. Too much arriving at once perhaps? I can't figure it ...

Um.........waiting for it to clear Customs, been 4 working days now since arriving in Auckland and it may be a while longer if Mr Bungle's experience is anything to go by........we'll see. Re: MDF vs Ply for Cabs

Yep my gripe with MDF is the water absorbing factor, it's not resilient if an accident or adverse(flooding and dampness) conditions ensue.

Re: First time ever

Japan is your best bet and fast. I had a Strat delivered from the US last month and shipping was US$400. Took about a month to arrive. What shipper was used for your Strat. USPS. I was reasonably ok with $400. A year ago I got a quote of US$1500 shipping for an US$1800 Strat. 😂 Same here USPS, and ...

Obviously smaller than guitars, but shipping on pedals via Reverb is still very variable. I've had plenty offer shipping from USA/Europe for NZD$50 or even free with $300-600 pedals. But yeah, fuck shipping guitars... Cheaper to fly and get it yourself. I'm going to the States later this year and a...

First time ever

Just bought another gibson coming in from the US and the freight rates as quoted to the guy I'm getting it from were through the roof per Fedex, DHL or UPS.......cheapest was UPS at US$795. Previously say 18 months ago it was around US$380-$450 I'll qualify this by saying that the chap is a guitar t...
