Re: The new music I've been making - The Eversons

We've just made this live video and are a few weeks away from moving to London. Unfortunately our drummer can't come so we will be on the lookout, anyone know any drummers in London?

Re: Acoustic treatment

Now, to me, it's all just foam! What's the story here? Yep you are correct, it's just foam. Don't waste your time and money. You want to make some panels out of mineral fibre like OC703, which I don't think you can get here but there are several equivalents that have almost the same acoustic absorp...

Re: Thinking about getting another Bass head

I've never played a Hartke, but it would have to be pretty special to drag around a 15kg solid state amp. Why not a micro?

Re: another 'what monitors?' thread from me.

Larger monitors typically need to be further away from you, so if you're in a small room this may not be ideal. See if there's an optimum distance range given by the manufacturer you're looking at, I know Genelec have this info for their monitors. Speaking of which, the newish Genelec M series seeme...

Re: Recording Hiss Removal? Can anyone help?

For a one off, download the demo of Izotope RX. The denoiser is great and much less destructive than notch eqing. Easy to use too.

Re: Live Recording Advice

Realise there are some obvious disadvantages to live recording like bleeding sound, timing etc (drummer has been working to a click at practice and we have been all playing to it via the PA as late. I've made heaps of records that were recorded live with vocal overdubs, and a few totally live in on...

Looks cool, only thing that would annoy me is 12V rather than 9V.

How solid are the footswitches?

Re: Sennheiser e906

I have some of the e609s, which I think are pretty much the same minus the presence switch. Real handy for live or demos because they have good rejection and you can just hang them over a cab, but I almost never record with them because the top end/upper midrange is a bit nasty and cheap sounding im...

Re: Wellington guitar shops

There is Weta guitars, they have a page on Facebook under Weta Guitar repairs, mostly old school kind of stuff. They also have amps etc, and I THINK they are in Island bay now, which isn't the handiest of locations but it's worth a look if you have a car down here. They moved to Breaker Bay a few y...
