Re: Crazy to spend $6k on a Tele?
Oh common sense says no guitar is worth that amount of money. But if you have the disposable income and it will give you some degree of enduring happiness, it can still be a reasonable decision to buy it.

Re: Crazy to spend $6k on a Tele?
It's crazy if a cheaper guitar will give you just as much pleasure, if you're doing it on a whim, or if you can't afford it. Otherwise, knock yourself out. I've regretted buying cheaper guitars, but never regretted paying more for the right guitar. Oh, and whoever offered you $3k for a nice CS Strat...

I love the look of genuine play wear on LPs. Deliberate relicing usually looks rubbish, but the real thing just adds so much for me.Mini Forklift Ⓥ wrote:Surprised that in the space of only a month or so the area between the pickups is already starting to show minor signs of play wear]

Haha thanks Molly, I actually own one. Would be a bargain for $1000, most I've seen are closer to $1600. I was ambiguously asking if OP was interested in a trade.

Re: Two hours you won't regret
No it's all a placebo, if you have a dud cable on a digital signal you will get noticeable artifacts, but anything from the most basic $2 cable to a $2k one will sound identical, that's the beauty of digital, now a better DA converter will have an impact, but no way a cable will!! To be honest, I d...

He has what looks and sounds like a peach of a Custom Shop Strat. He has the chops to earn respect, regardless of what instrument he's holding.

Or the headphone crowd talking about cables and amplifiers.
There are people who spend $2000 on a USB cable. But it really brings out the highs and tightens up the bass! Probably because there are more bits being transferred. Cos you know, that's how digital transmission works.

Re: Two hours you won't regret
I think it makes sense to separate out into musical instruments, investments or status symbols. Obviously all guitars fall into each category to a certain extent, but people aren't paying half a million for a '58 Burst for its properties as a musical instrument. Same with guitars once played by famo...

If you go over the 12th fret on a bass, you're better off playing a guitar.Bg wrote:

I'm assuming you've considered dropping the height of the neck pickup?
