Re: Les Paul Refinish Advice Please

Post spray, start sanding with say 800 grit until it's smooth. Then I go up to 1200 and then 2000. Then I go to 3000 and then 5000. Each sand is easier than the last. Finally, use car polish. The result is a flawless finish. Use wet and dry paper up to 2000, then at Wairau Paint buy two pads for sa...

Re: Les Paul Refinish Advice Please

Wairau Paint Centre will tint nitro and put it in a rattle can. Sit the can in a bowl of warm water before spraying. What has been your experience with their nitro? What is the end product like? Has potential to be excellent. You and your spraying gear will be the issue before the paint will be. As...

3D?
Textured.
It's the Gibson certificate of authenticity. The Chinese can't copy it.
Maybe if the USA took a page out of China's labour laws we might get some damn QC from Gibson.

Re: Swapping different fretted necks on a Start

I am interested to know any views on exchanging different numbered fretted necks ( 21,22 and 24 ) on different stratocaster body's . Like, irrespective of the existing setup, can it be possible to do this with or without moving the bridge position ? :? Interesting question. The scale lengths would ...

Re: Les Paul Refinish Advice Please

Maple tops don’t need grain filler. I’d sand, in case the acetone melts the binding, or dribbles down onto the sides and back. The maple doesn't, but the mahogany has grain filler from factory. I'm thinking of doing the entire body, not just the top Acetone will almost certainly melt the binding. I...

Hollow wrote: Wed May 15, 2024 11:34 am I think all the parameters are still available in the app, you're just limited to a mix control on the mini pedal itself.

On the demo videos I've seen controls for reverb type, time, pre-delay, colour and mix in the app.
This is what I'd expected of the mini pedal.

Re: IK Multimedia ToneX

That would be highly frustrating. I thought the idea of these was cheaper cost and less editing capability through physical knobs, but without sacrificing much in the way of functionality once connected to the app.

Re: Survey: PLEASE RE-VOTE How many effects pedals do you own?

Have you tried the POG-2? Obviously different kettle of fish to the SY-200, but very usable and relatively affordable.  Thanks! Have watched some demos on the POG-2 and it looks good, especially with the preset options. Might try one out on the weekend, and then it'll be wanted p...
