Time to buy some spray gear....

Looking for recommendations for a reasonably solid finishing setup? Buy once, cry just a little bit..... Assuming I need a gun, compressor, hose, a few cups, and cleaning gear? Highest use will probably be nitro on guitars, but the first victim will probably be shellac on a tweed cab. Can see an air...

Re: Whats on your amp workbench?

"I need to put the speakers in. I have 4x8ohm speakers of about 25w, and from what I've read I will need to wire 2 pairs in series, then parallel the 2 pairs together to achieve 100w at 8ohms. Am I close?" Bullseye. You could also wire each pair in parallel then wire the two pairs in seri...

Re: Whats on your amp workbench?

Upgraded to a Fryette ZMACS amp switcher - 4 amps/4 cabs. Should come with a warning not to casually dismiss how many cables you’re going to need….. IMG_0609.jpeg And that’s just for the ZMACS - probably another 8-9 required for the rest of the rig and Cyclops. 😬 That's hard core! This in your stud...

Just curious what years/circuits we talking about here? Big fan of the 6G16 and its cousins - they have great breakup (enough for Nuno)!

Re: Tweed and Oxblood Grill Cloth for 5e3 Build?

Yeah I get my tweed from Banzai as shipping is way cheaper than Mojotone. I have no tweed left in stock, got plenty of oxblood cloth though. I've done probably about 25 tweed cabs now. tweedy.jpeg Banzai - didn't know about them - thanks! Might have to hit you up for some oxblood, if you can spare ...

Tweed and Oxblood Grill Cloth for 5e3 Build?

Looking for some "real" tweed and oxblood grill cloth for a 5e3 cabinet build. Not after the tweedy vinyl stuff. Looks like Mojotone have the goods - can anyone confirm that I’m looking at the correct stuff: Tweed: https://www.mojotone.com/Fender-Style-Tweed-Olive-Stripe-Coated-32-W Oxbloo...

2019 was a great year for tops! And there seemed to be less chunky necks being made.

Re: Show us your pedalboard

Ive probably said it before-but untill recently i had no idea daphon made the soundtank range for ibanez. Explains a lot i guess. I got a few handed down and NGL, i think they kinda rowdy Am I recalling correctly, the early ones were a metal housing. Then they went to plastic? They were a pretty co...

Re: number 38

I think the choice of the body with its two distinct colours is gorgeous. Like a vanilla and chocolate pudding  Imo, the maple back panel distracts from that colour split. Perhaps a stainless steel one would look more neutral? Inteersting Jay> AS a theme in my thinking is the idea of reflecti...

Re: Whats on your amp workbench?

Gotta' ask - how much was cheap? $600. BUT…..it came with the original Vox 2 x 12, which has a mint pair of mint late 60’s Oxford made Alnico Gold Bulldogs, and chrome Vox tilt stand. The Gold Bulldogs sound VERY similar to Silvers. Figured price of admission was well worth the price of the cab/spe...
