Re: Has anyone tried graphtech ratio tuners?

Adrian Legg retunes in < 1 second without stopping the piece he is playing, the note slides are part of the composition. It would be challenging to build auto-tuning technology that quick and precise-- Legg isn't retuning as such, he is switching between a preset note (just like a D-tuner). He uses...

Guitars seem to be for opening act Maisie Peters, who is signed to Ed's label.

Re: Whats on your amp workbench?

This is a new one for me. Customer dropped off a ‘Norseman’ 10W amp - made right here in Wellington back in who-knows-when. Anyone come across one before? https://vikingsevenseas.co.nz/pages/about-us ...Then the company moved to the top floor of 13 Jessie Street. One room was an office, the second ...

Re: Wiring Issue...Help Please

Red to switch
Black and bare to ground (back of the volume pot)
Tape off white and don't solder it to anything.

If it's still out of phase in the middle position, swap black and red.

Re: How much is a re-fret?

You can sometimes get by with a good re-crowning of the "Pokey" (square ish profile) Gibson frets, as opposed to a full re-fret. I've re-crowned a few this way with good results, which can make them a lot more comfortable to play.

LR Baggs Anthem: Expensive, but good. Not completely bulletproof.. Would sound great in a J-35.
Baggs also do a split saddle version for Lowden guitars.

DTar/Seymour Duncan Wavelength Duo: Great pickup, I feel like it's 90% as good as the Anthem, for less.

Re: Baritone conversions-who's done one?

I saw Chris Armour in Wellington doing a blues gig with a Baritone Tele, bloody brilliant. I think he did some slide on it as well. Talented chap he is to. We are blessed in Welly. Was that the natural looking one? If so it was a W.D Music Tele baritone conversion neck on a Swamp Kauri body. Heavy!

Glad to hear you got this done! It sounded great beforehand, and no doubt much more comfortable to play now too.

Re: The Hook Wizard

Sounds great. The motorized knobs are reminiscent of a certain Soldano preamp from the '80s...
