Re: NGD: 1975 Guild f50r

They could well be be, I dont remember mine having them but specs changed regularly back then. (as did the owners of the Guild guitar Co). Unfortunately my copy of Hans Moust Guild book is packed away....

Re: acoustic search USA (san fran/santa cruz)

Funnily enough I was playing with a 4 guitar band on Wednesday night: A revstar through an AC4, a Gibson Trini Lopez through another Vox, a Cole Clark angel through another valve amp (Artist ?), then me on the 00-28. Yeah they were all louder than me but the little Martin still cut through cleanly a...

Re: acoustic search USA (san fran/santa cruz)

Are you planning on bringing it back with you or just using it while you are there ? If you are just using it while you are there something like a Taylor GS mini or Martin X series would be the obvious pick, but there might be other really good options there. Id be suspecting Breedlove and a few oth...

Re: The Acoustic Thread

Yep that is so far out of financial reach for me as to be undesirable.... My sister found a second hand one for $19,000. Doesn't really help much. Much more so than with electrics, in the acoustic world there's a demonstrable correlation between performance and price. I've never gone quite that far...

Re: What are you gassing for?

Not played the Amulet but I have an older comet which seems to be much the same thing: single ended 6L6, valve rectified with a 10 inch speaker. Nicely made and very cool looking. Goes nicely with single coils imo but a bit too warm with humbuckers for my taste. A curse to get fixed if anything goes...

Re: The Acoustic Thread

Love the Q&A on that one. That chinese clone guy seems to pop up on every Martin listing suggesting that the Martin you are selling is a fake. I get the impression that he is trying to drive the selling price down. Has anyone ever actually seen a fake Martin ? Many. They're called Sigmas. I am ...

Re: The Acoustic Thread

I'm Gassing for a Nylon crossover acoustic electric; pretty limited field, especially in NZ. Obviously there's the Lowden Jazz but thought I'd check out Goodall. I've only met a couple of Goodalls but one of them is in my thoughts almost every day. And yes, they do one! https://reverb.com/item/6696...

Yeah not a fan. Probably not quite as a stupid marketing idea as the Martin printed tops but still not for me. If I wanted a beaten up old Guitar then I would buy one...
