Re: The Acoustic Thread
Another less expensive option for an all solid wood guitar is one of the Lowden/Sheeran series. Plenty of different models and woods to choose from, and all on the smaller side (00 or 000). You need to buy from overseas though, I don’t think NZ has an importer. These are so much better than the che...

Re: Mr Glyns Pickups
Any timeframe on your Gretschy offering, Glyn? Sorry my late reply, I don’t get on here often enough. I’m working on a FilterTron set right now and I’m pretty happy with how it’s coming along. I’m really happy with the neck pickup and still tweaking the bridge. I’m really enjoying this one - I star...

Re: To Do Or Not To Do
Can Mr Glyn make one of these? P90 Tele size. https://www.ebay.com/itm/253281677141 https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/zv4AAOSwa3BaHHHc/s-l1600.jpg It’s one of those “yes, but’ answers. It takes a lot of experimenting and prototypes to get a pickup right. That’s okay if there’s a good market for it, I’m...

Re: Mr Glyns Pickups
It’s been set aside a bit, sorry. I’ve a few new things on the go - a low powered humbucker voiced for people who don’t like humbuckers, bass pickups and a mini humbucker set. All of which are ready to go but not quite on the website yet. It’s amazing how many different types of pickups there are le...

Re: Christchurch Gearfest 14th August 2021
Fast approaching, how many people are defiantly coming? I asked a guy named Blake from Fan Tail audio if he would be interested in coming, he repairs pedals and is hoping to make it more of a business going forward so could be handy to know someone local for this sort of thing. I was intending to b...

Re: Mr Glyn's Sassy P90 Pickups (Demo)
Nice Nik!! I wonder how these compare to the black sand p90 I have! Hi Jeremy, same magnets, different winds. I think Brett Kingman’s Black Sand demo and Nik’s Sassy demo sum them up nicely and illustrate the difference way better than me trying to describe it. A demo speaks a thousand words eh. So...

Re: Mr Glyns Pickups
I'm trying to figure out how to upload a picture. Oh well. The cover depth is 17mm and the pole piece is 21.5mm long. The cover in plan view is 85mm by 34mm. Hi Mr Glynn could I have the humbucker sized specs as well, just checking cuz my old MIJ guitar may be non-standard Hi, they're standard humb...

Re: Mr Glyns Pickups
There's a demo on the site by Warren Mendonsa (aka blackstratblues) - he's got a set in his 335. He's on this forum if you want to have a chat with him. https://mrglynspickups.com/2020/03/29/black-sand-humbucker-sized-p90-neck/ I'm just packing up a set to send to Brett Kingman for a demo so that's...

Re: 1959 Les Paul Junior Build
Pickups - I will make it so pickups can be changed around easy enough. I have a hum cancelling P90 coming, and I purchased Mal's mini humbuckers too which I will load the bridge into a P90 sourround. I want to experiment. Maybe Mr Glyn can fabricate something unusual for this? Goldfoil P90? Finish ...
