Actually I believe with a 24 and just about any hardtailed stat body it becomes a breeze if the neck can be fitted OK ?

I am interested to know any views on exchanging different numbered fretted necks ( 21,22 and 24 ) on different stratocaster body's . I certainly agree.

The necks are all the same size (if from the same manufacturer, but even then it will only vary slightly), but the overhang differs. Yes I believe Fender says 21 and 22 are interchangeable.

Thanks everyone. Pretty much what I thought. It means make it as you go really , especially hoping to change to 24 fret it may not be a good idea in some cases !

Incidentally , the top tuning was not necessary at all . Did not see any difference in sound after putting the bass strings back to the same as the others. It's not about the sound, it's about the feel of the strings. Ok that may as it be but the previous owner reckoned the bass strings were hard u...

Received the guitar and was pleased to see and play it. To to brighten up the gold hardware I first tried warm water and detergent........ no improvement. Next napthan......No result. Then tried a very light CRC Polish wax....... The result was great and did not remove any of the gold plating as can...
