Cool, we get spend Stevo's cash...vicarious GAS. Well, $500 does buy a lot of amp nowadays. Personally I 'd go for something simple with a really nice clean sound. That way you can do anything you want to it with pedals and pre-amps etc and get a good sound. I played an Ashton at Shearers in Hamilto...

Relic Strat roject
OK, some time ago I bought a Strat off of our beleagured, I mean beloved, founder and Zen God, BG. It is a 1996 Chinese bass wood 50th Anniversery Strat, with simply one of the best necks I've played - ever. I hated the average 3 tone burst so decided to make a relic out of it after I scored some vi...

Matchless - been around for some time. Yep - hand wired Class A stuff. AC30 rip off is fab. Do you know pathetic our choice of gear is in New Zealand. I looked up boutique amplifiers via google etc and in the States there is simply truckloads of custom amp builders making the coolest looking (and I'...

Dr Rog, try winding your over drive gain back a few notches, and the pedal volume up a few notches. Getting a clean cut through using overdrive (via pedals) can take a bit of tweaking to get right. If the signal is too saturated (driven) the signal will be compressed to buggery, givign a flat, lifel...

They do a blimmin nice P-90 Mahog bodied PRS killer...well, maimer...o...

Actually, Ibanez Talman's are made from MDF, and they actually ring quite nicely. Hardboard flakes real bad and can't imagine why epi would do such a shocking thing by topping an LP with it - LP himself must be turing in his grave (is he dead?) Tempted to take a wood file to my ebony Les Paul to mak...

No spotties, and only the DJ's and hangers on...acoustics held up OK with some serious string bending going on. I have a Maton EC so it's built like a tank. We are getting some air play for our song Crash - I think e-radio are playing it in the States too, and it's on their top 100 or something. Had...
