Re: A few pics from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland
I was born and raised in Cleveland and still visit my family there every year. The Rock Hall is great, I've been there a few times. Definitely a must-visit if you are in the city.

Re: Post-Rock Artists
For me, "post-rock" started with Talk Talk, particularly their album "Spirit of Eden" (1988), and then "Laughing Stock"(1991). Incredible albums. Bark Psychosis was another pioneer in the early 90s. And Slowdive's "Pygmalion" (1995) is a post-rock masterpiece....

Re: NGD: 1966 Fender Jaguar
There’s a fair bit of anecdotal evidence of CBS using up old stock in transition models (my 67 bandmaster is a prime example) so it makes sense to me. I found several resto threads of 66 jags with black bottom pickups when I was researching this guitar too. Could you provide some of those links? I'...

Re: NGD: 1966 Fender Jaguar
Did you plan on using them primarily to play music with or periodically staring at the colour of the bobbin ? Colour of the bobbin matters if you care if the pickup is original to the guitar. Most people would like to know this information, especially on a vintage piece. Bender seems to think (and ...

Re: NGD: 1966 Fender Jaguar
That bridge pickup looks like a black bottom. A real '66 pickup will have a grey bottom (and a penciled date on it).

Re: Educate me about Offsets
5. Its common for the string wraps near the ball to rub on the dome screws on the top of the tail piece (the ones that secure the trem fulcrum pieces under the tail piece plate). The rubbing occurs when you use the vibrato. This can be solved by taking the screws out and re-inserting them from the ...

Re: Educate me about Offsets
I like the way they (jaguars and jazzmasters) look, feel, play and sound better than any other guitars. Very versatile instruments with unique voices. It's as simple as that (for me).

Re: NGD: 1966 Fender Jaguar
Neck pocket gap and heavy weight are typical for CBS-era (1966-1975) Jags. The pre-CBS (i.e. 1962-1965) ones are usually 7-8lbs, but the CBS-era ones can be as much as 14lbs, with many in the 10-12lb range. If I were going to buy one of these, the first thing I would ask would be the weight because ...

Re: New BOSS Products coming....
Anyone else have a GT-1000? I picked one up on a recent trip to the states (for about half the price Rockshop is asking!), and it is a great unit, much improved over my old gt-100. I am just getting in to tweaking it, but many of the presets are usable as-is. The sound quality is incredible.

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?
Oh im not worried so much a curious. I realise they were student level offerings compared to the fancier JM and jag, but I dont know how far that trickled down in terms of actual quality. They feel like student guitars. I started out playing my brother's 1970 Mustang in the early 90s. Decent guitar...

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?
that looks very cool. I've never seen a mustang with a cover over the bridge like that before either. They all came with one back in the day. It's the same cover used on Jags/Jazzmasters. I bought a genuine one last year for $1 on ebay (auction, no one else bid). 8) I had no idea. Had to Google the...
