Re: '59 LP Build
lets not forget that if you want absolute accuracy to a design then CNC is the best solution. If I was interested in a commercial building operation I would absolutely be wanting to do as much a possible on CNC in order to get consistence and repeatability - not to mention speed. Re: '59 LP Build
great programming and a very well equipped workshop.
Great finishing skills too.
I wouldn't mind a CNC for bodies...but I really enjoy neck carving!

Re: Made some DIY acoustic panels
I should add that as sound travels in many directions even thin panels still absorb some lower Freq...and the flexing of the panel acts as a panel absorber which also is more efficient at lower freq....its a complex world!

Re: Made some DIY acoustic panels
how thick are they? if you stand them of from the wall a little (up to the thickness of the panel) they will work at a lower freq. I put some acoustic wedge stuff onto canvas frames from the warehouse...The frame adds 50mm on top of the 50 mm panels. you need about 1/4 wavelength to attenuate effect...

Nice. Any sanding between coats, etc?
I didn't answer this...
I apply the oil with 00 artificial steel wool. Its effectively flattening and partially grain filling as it goes.

What's the finish? Tru-oil? its the Crimson Guitars version. They have a high penetration version and a high build version. Its 4 coats of penetrating and about 8 of high biuld. Nice. Any sanding between coats, etc? Would it be fair to say Crimson influence your designs aswell? Not design… I did my...

Out of curiosity what’s your reasoning for the holes? Are they purely aesthetic or do they serve a purpose? Well done

this one is a comedy of errors... a trial of Cedar for the body - my first binding job ..and my first ceruse style finish on an ash top. AS I started to get the top done I decided the original idea of minihumbers was wrong as this looked too rocky and should have full size humbuckers....and i screwe...

humbled and grateful for the positive feedback team. I do this for my own enjoyment...guitar has given me so much satisfaction and reward over my life. The drive to build was a surprise to me... All I see are the bits that could have been better...I don't see this as false modesty - its a desire to ...

Re: The Police
its fascinating how a guitarist in his mid thirties ended up in band that was appealing to the punk crowd in Britain. There are some shows online from just after the first record...very high energy and pretty low levels of production...polytechnic lunch hall type gigs. Saw them in 2008....great show.
