Re: Show us your gig

They're similar to Northumbrian pipes... but no chanters. Very pleasant listening. :) Thanks! These are ODD pipes... they're electronic and made by some bloke in Germany. They behave like actual pipes though, which is nice but a bit of a PITA. There's no way to play staccato, for example, because i...

Andy Fraser in Free. That EB tone! So rich and powerful. Solid sound, graceful player.

I hadn't thought of that.

Re: Trying to form a band.

I think it sounds awesome. If I was not already in a committed relationship, I’d be so there. Ta, :) If you don’t mind me saying, the pitch seems too comprehensive. Does sound a bit like you’ve got it all worked out and that might make other musicians feel like they’d not have much chance for input...

Re: Guitarist Available, Inspiration Sought...

At school I just had a little 10w practice amp, but remember cycling to School with my bass over my shoulder Back in Italy, I used to get around in a scooter. The amp had a 12" speaker and sat on the footrest behind the shield. Bass on my back. No worries. I wonder what the story would be with...

Re: Trying to form a band.

If only you were nearby, I'd love to see if we could make it work. Making a buck out of music.....what planet do you come from? LOL I know. It's just a copy and paste from FB and there you DO get a mix of people, some coming in from overseas and desperate to make a quid. And I actually DO com...

Trying to form a band.

Extreme long shot but I may as well ask here, too. I play electric baritone guitar and I'd love to get a guitar band together. I've asked friends what the music sounds like and they replied "cosmic mood music". Ah. "Cinematic" is another word. "Atmospheric", "chill...

Re: Recommend me a drum machine please

Out of curiosity, why would you want an actual drum machine? Wouldn't you be better off with a software one? You can always save things as .WAVs or .MP3s and either run them through a looper or get a $20 MP3 player. You can use any samples you want and you're not stuck with preset beats.

Re: Plastic nuts!

I also had to replace the plastic nut in my El Cheapo Vox amp (Pathfinder 15R). Ended up buying a replacement socket from Jaycar just to use the nut. I suspect your requirement would be identical to mine, but I can't recall the model. It might've been this? https://www.jaycar.co.nz/6-5mm-mono-chass...

Ye-ah... I'll have to have another look. Last time I was at their nuts island (Lower Hutt store) I didn't see any plastic ones, but then I wasn't looking for them.

Ta! :)

Plastic nuts!

I have an El Cheapo Vox amp. For the record, it's a DA20. Hey, it's battery powered! Good for busking. Like all cheap Vox amps, the input jack is held in place with a plastic nut. Which always comes off. The trick is to pre-empt this by putting a dollop of something under the nut and gluing it in pl...

No idea. No idea at all. And it's not like the documentation is very detailed.
