Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?
My Strat neck arrived! :) Tight as fuck fit, but no neck holes. I’d take it to my luthier but he’s in self-isolation! I was a little worried about fitting it myself too. Turned out to be okay. Right size hole, and make sure you use a depth marker on your drill bit. I used old strings as guides to m...

My Strat neck arrived! :) Tight as fuck fit, but no neck holes. I’d take it to my luthier but he’s in self-isolation! Just fit it yourself. Pilot holes or you risk cracking it. :-) Absolutely no way. I'm a complete muppet with this stuff. The fear alone would destroy my confidence and I'd fuck it u...

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?
I ordered a Custom Shop 69 pickup from Ebay on 15/3. I just received the following USPS tracking update:- "Your item departed a transfer airport in INTERNATIONAL, AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND on March 27, 2020 at 9:06 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination.". Looks like I'm gonn...

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?
Well, I'd kind of lost hope that I'd ever get the guitar neck I'd ordered from the States for my Strat build. For the last week, it USPS have updated me to say that it has "arrived" at LAX, but it kept getting stuck on the carousel. Anyway, it went quiet for a couple of days and apparently...

Another lap steel. Number three. Like I need another one. A Guyatone from the 60s for 200 bucks, with a hard case. I was intrigued by the gold foil pickups. The chap sent it before I had a chance to transfer the cash! Pretty trustworthy! Was that a trademe one? Pics please. I assume you still have ...

Quality! No way on planet Earth i could afford one of those things. I am now the proud owner of two wicked germanium fuzzes. A Fulltone '69, which is just the absolute dogs bollocks. Never did I think I'd leave a fuzz on all the time. There's nothing more satisfying than watching my band's faces as ...

Re: Strat pickups?
No worries. They're not pricey bits. Can get those through guitarparts.co.nz anyway, I think.
I think I might hit Tony B up for a couple of the assembly jobs. No holes drilled on the neck, and I want to make sure I do a good job of that. I can probably manage the rest.
