Re: Studio Build 2019. Grange Studio v2.0

My good friend Matt has been helping me build this and is somewhat of a knowledgable person on the finer side of acoustics, and sound design. We decided early on that we would follow the 'room in a room' type method which is exactly what it sounds like. You build a room inside your existing room. Ho...

Studio Build 2019. Grange Studio v2.0

It's been a full on few months because we recently sold our old house and my studio space went with it, and we purchased a new one. Which means I had to find a new space to convert into Grange Studio v2.0! I thought some people may be interested in checking out the how/what/why's of the process, so ...

Re: Where to buy fancy strings from?

Not sure if they stock what you’re looking for sorry but I get all my strings from stringsandbeyond.com. They’ve always been great to deal with, and their prices are pretty extraordinary  Hi Simon. So this works well with our exchange rate ect? Yeah I’ve found so and I’ve been buying almos...

Re: Supro recommendations

+1 on whatever GrantB’s one is. I’m not often blown away by new amps but that one is an absolute beast. Not much clean happening but if you want tube-frying rock’n’roll then I’d recommend at least trying one out if possible

Re: GUITAR: oh, cliche topic - what picks do you use!

I just use the standard green Dunlop Tortex .88 ones. On electric and acoustic. Useless trivia: I flip the pick over between strums sometimes. I have no idea why, or when I started doing it. But I caught myself doing it years ago at a gig and gradually realised I kind of do it unconsciously. Weirdo.

Re: Finn Brothers

Any love for the Finn brothers out there? Absolutely. Though if you hadn't mentioned them I probably wouldn't be playing them in my head right now. I have Six Months in a Leaky Boat competing with She Will Have Her Way. She Will Have a Leaky Boat? Or Six Months in Her (way)?! Great, great songwrite...

Re: Gear you regret letting go of

The only thing that springs to mind was an original old big-box Rat. The one without any on/off light, and that had the backward controls. What a great distortion sound!
That’s it though really. Fortunately it seems I’ve got off (oh err) pretty lightly!

Re: HX Stomp, dialing it in and first impressions.

I think IEM’s take some getting used to as well. They’re probably one of the most practical advancements in live sound gear there is/was, but I really struggled when I’ve used them in the past. I’ll go good monitors wherever possible. However, I’d be interested in hearing an expensive, tour-grade se...

Re: Show us your Stratocasters!

Looks great! Did you get yours from Stratosphere? Cheers! Yes indeed  I got a cheapie from Ali (or was it fleabay?) but, as you can see above, it's very red. Yours is nice and brown. I just checked at Stratosphere and it quoted shipping price of $48! Yikes!!! Mine is probably a bit redder ...
