Re: NPD: Reg's MSA SR DRIVE

JB will probably want to tell you that the Blues Power is just a copy of the Jan Ray. Or that other one starting with T. It’s sort of true actually, although Kingtone tried to throw people off the scent by adding some extra diodes that don’t actually do much at all and a transistor that literally c...

Whats this one based on Reg? hearing all sorts of nice toans from it!
It’s a Kingtone Bluespower, V1 I guess as I see they just re-released it in a weird plastic looking enclosure which must be V2.

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread

Over 15 years ago when I was playing in a hardcore type band I used a LP but it was already unpopular then in that scene, I loved it and didn’t really care but most had moved on to ESPs, Jackson’s, or more obscure brands in that genre. Probably by early 2000s it was already Les popular and was getti...

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread

Well, Dave is 55 and Pat is 64. I haven't seen many (if any) players under 30 playing Gibsons into Marshalls these past few years. Maybe it doesn't hold the appeal it once did. That’s the thing, it wasn’t just over 40s at the concert. Heaps of teens and even my 11 year old son (who hadn’t even hear...

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread

Watching the Foo Fighters tonight there were a few nice LPs being swapped in for both Pat Smear and Chris Shiflet at times, gave me hope rock isn’t on the way out and the classic LP into a stack is still as stronger statement as ever. Re: iphone recording mount/mic

I have a little Rode Mic that plugs directly into the lightning port of my iPhone, it doesn’t actually sound any better than the iPhones inbuilt mic but it’s directional and handles 115db so isolates much better than the iPhone. The 15 Pro Max will have USBc? I’m sure you could find a USBc adapter t...

Superswitch wiring help.

I’ve got a Mr Glyn Pandora bridge pickup on the way which has 3 taps for different outputs. It’s going to replace the Cruel Mistress which is currently in my Tele as it apparently has the Cruel Mistress as one of its taps anyway. I’m either going to put a push pull pot in to get 2 different sounds o...

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread

My Les Paul had been in its case for a month or 2 in favour of my Tele, this thread has reversed that for the time being. Forgot how much I like a Les Paul through a Superlead! Some seriously nice LPs on this thread!

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread

2005 Classic, came with a headstock repair then required a full fretboard off and trussrod replacement, owes me way more than it’s worth so likely to stay for a long time. It’s not in the league of any of the CS stuff being posted but it’s everything I wanted in a Les Paul and I’m very pleased with ...

Re: Cheap is 'GOOOOOD'

Most of the $400-$1000 so called entry level guitars I’ve played have been really good, when you get down to sub $200 it starts to get a bit hairy like cheap tuners and plywood etc but I think even then if you know how to do a basic fret job and setup most can be turned into gigable guitars. One of ...

That sounds amazing! Was quite content until I watched those videos…..thanks! Sense impending deep dive of specs and pricing shortly.
