Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?

Not really in the post any longer, but only just cracked the package open on this IR200. Weird feeling, as I generally never buy any guitar stuff new.

Cheers to the Rockshop for sharpening the pencil on pricing to allow for a local purchase

Re: Anyone bought strings off Ali Express?

In the past I’ve placed 4 or 5 orders through AE and not one of them ever turned up. Never had any issues with eBay regardless of what country it’s being sent from My hit rate is probably better than 90%, but thats still not fabulous. Mine is near on 100% success, so obviously have had a better run...

Re: What are you gassing for?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the appeal for this guitar is going to be like the production run... somewhat limited https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qqtUIUb68Q Oh and no, I don't have GAS for this err yes... a little crazy .. has valves fitted though... tempting... Would look great at a pub gi...

Me.. about twice a year :sarc:

I love the violence of a Marshall half stack moving air when the family is out and the neighbors are at work.. its quite a buzz.. for a short while anyway..

Re: Get at them tubes..

The 6p3s is the same tube and available very cheaply on ebay. I've used them for 10 years without problem in Laney, Marshall, and Mesa amps. Thanks, I’ll take a look later. I have a pair of 60’s Black plate RCA’s in it right now, but they’re not particularly cheap These tubes are what I also use. T...

Re: Get at them tubes..

I did just buy a matched quad of EH EL34's that were on sale for the JCM800, just in case I decide to power it on twice a year for 15mins at a time... I'm happy enough with stereo Katanas and dirt pedals for the rest of the time. I was talking to Guy B here in chch, and hes almost out of some tubes...

I keep a casual look out, but tbh would have to be in Canterbury also as I can't be faffed with shipping heavy valve amps nowadays.. so that will limit my chances
And a combo as well.double jeopardy!
Yer!! I would probably only go for a head also.. further limiting options..

Re: 5150 Iconic Series

My first reaction was "I'm not sure the world needs a US$900 hybrid amp when the 6505 and 5153 50w are both US$1k" Then turns out that Peavey has discontinued the 6505/6505+ and is coming out with a "6505II", which I guess might be even more expensive. And the 50w 5153 is now US...

Re: Fender American Strat Professional II: HSS or SSS?

I put a hotrail in the rear of my strat many many years ago, as while I wanted the push of a bucker, I personally don't like the look of HSS... just a preference thang.
