Fender Blues Deluxe has a brilliant clean sound, and imagine you could pick one up within your budget 2nd hand. All tubes, 40W, its a loud amp and the clean sound is really nice. I just plug directly in to the mac, but it sucks cause i've got some nice guitars that sound great but sound pretty awful plugged straight in, ..obviously. Also probably has something to do with the playing as well ha.

I'm thinking of investing in an Mbox interface, with firewire as apposed to usb.
