Re: Jazzmaster Pickguards
Hey learned folk of NZGuitars, Is there any difference between a pickguard for a Japanese Jazzmaster and a US made one? I have a Japanese model want to swap out the existing one for a mint green or of white guard and wanted to check first. Standard 60's JM layout. Cheers :-) And how about an Indone...

Take some inspiration from these shapes on how to get more wood in the top horn?

Looks great. Reckon we need another gearfest. So much cool stuff being posted lately that needs to listened to and played, as well as having fine photos taken ofcourse.

Cool pics Chch chapter, but those photos need some labels.
I love the contrast between meticulously assembled pedalboards through to collection of pedals on the floor.
Whats the naked amp on top of the red Marshall quad?

Re: NAD: Marshall 1974 clone
I haven't had much of a go with pedals yet. But I think at low volumes an OD that works well with the DR should go ok with the 1974. Open to suggestions for good low-gain options! Had a brief fang on Friday and it seemed to like a TS more than a Klone. Which isn't surprising. Hmmm... I tend to gig ...

Re: NAD: Marshall 1974 clone
Nah it's a stock kit from GDS Amplification. Very vintage correct (e.g. speaker wired directly to the 16Ohm tap of the OT). Contemplated asking Mike to do a MV mod, but to he honest I don't use the attenuators or MV options that I have. I’ve got a pretty lucky set up at the new place with a basemen...

Re: Show Us Your Guitar
Treated myself to a NGD. Total sucker for blocks, binding and a matching headstock, and am quite impressed with the CV Squier Tele, so after I spotted this at the RS it was just a matter of time. Sorry about the crappy iPad photo. DA67971C-3352-4297-BD09-FC1299143D81.jpeg I can’t remember how the la...

Looks great
Did you get any mods built in?
Keep thinking I’d like to have power scaling on mine. That said, moved into a new place with more room and I can turn things up a bit louder, so its getting played regularly now, so yeah.. glad I kept it. Looks like you’re sorted now too.

Re: Fender Tonemaster Princeton
I keep thinking I should get a katana. Versatile , reliable, cheap, light, plenty of headroom for big gigs and can get similar tone across a range of volumes. It’s all the things I should want in a gigging amp, but turns out what I really want is the sound of a cranked Bellbird or 1974x, so just goi...

Re: NGD - But sadly not mine….
Do you find much real difference between them? I do in the guitars, but I'm not discerning enough to know how much is pickups vs the setup vs the construction. They're not different to the degree that I change amp/pedal settings when I change guitars, or have any must use this guitar for this song ...

Re: NGD - But sadly not mine….
The neck pickup Is somewhere I could live for days (I have never said that before). At one end of the scale is a lovely Blues wail and at the other, delicate acoustic guitar, rich in harmonics and drifting on seemingly endless sustain. It also punched me in the ears and tried to rip my head off. I ...
