Line M5. Slowly getting a rig together for my potential U2 tribute show, only need a couple more things and I'll have some sort of functional rig with all the sounds I need.

Re: Rhodes piano pre-amp (pedal builders??)
I LOVE a fender rhodes. you're a lucky chap. Some models have a preamp. If it doesn't you could use a clean boost type thing to juice it, but back in the day they would just plug it in a Fender amp and go. Plenty of tremolo is highly recommended

Re: Who in Auckland services valve amps nowadays?
wowwee. interesting. I've only had him calibrate my Deluxe Memory Man, he's done a good job on that. Might be that valve stuff is not really his area of expertise?

Re: Show us your pedalboard
Is that single 1Spot powering all the pedals with a daisy chain? nope! DMM is 24volt with it's own power supply, SCF is mains power, compressor was on battery and the hotcake was on the onespot. I do have a weird adapter box that will stop up 9 volts to 24, but it's slightly noisier than the normal...

You could try CB Electronics in Pokeno? I believe he will even pick up from Auckland.

Re: The Acoustic Thread
Anyone have any Fred Kelly thumb picks? Seems all the Travis pickers swear by the speed ones. I'd like to try some out, but they can only be ordered in 24 packs and I don't want to spend over $60 just to try one. I tried these and much preferred the dunlop tortoiseshell ones. The only issue with th...

Re: where have all the fancy amps gone
To be honest I don’t understand reverb on a Vox amp at all - the original amp didn’t have reverb, so I kind of feel like if you are going for classic Vox tone, you don’t need a spring reverb in the amp

Re: where have all the fancy amps gone
I do wonder if people are also starting to realise that some of these expensive amps really aren't "all that" anyway, you can build (or have built locally) just as good, if not better for way less. This is the thing. You just don't need a boutique super expensive thing when the off the sh...

Re: Help me arrange my pedalboard
JB has it. Use the LS2 to make a clean loop and a dirty loop. Then use the reverb to stereo-ize and off to the amps. Very cool.

Re: Anyone like bass guitars?
I came into the ownership of an old Ibanez Blazer on the weekend. High action, strings only a couple years younger than the dinosaurs. Looking forward to having a decent bass around the house.

Re: These are a few of my favourite things. UAFX Lion!
I'm not a Vox guy, but the Chime setting on the Iridium sounds the least convincing to my ears. Same with the Boss GT line. Bias FX did ok in that respect. Wonder why Vox sounds seem hard to model. Interesting. I have noted the same a few times, scrolling through various amp modeller settings. I la...
