Yeah i think you're right Hot_Grits, might not be back of the neck but the width of the fretboard, this is something i'll be looking at for my next guitar as i only just purchased my new guitar 2 months ago, but doesn't help to get informaton, im leaning towards a fender or any other single coil gui...

the main reason im interested in a smaller neck size is because i like playing rhythm with my thumb over the top, gives more freedom with my other fingers and feels more natural while playing standing up

Which guitars have the smallest necks? Smallish hands are a bitch :<
