Re: What are you gassing for?

I have only ever owned and played one P-90 guitar... an Epiphone. I moved it on but felt I have not really given P-90s a decent chance... You're welcome to borrow the Warhawk if you'd like a hoon. 3 P90's which is about the minimum acceptable amount. Cool, thanks for that. But... 3? Why's that? Wha...

Re: What are you gassing for?

00-15M. Was expecting to prefer the 000-15M but this just stuck with me after trying a few things. I'm no good at describing tone but it's very warm without being muddy, full without being loud. More articulate than I'd expected really. Quite a singular experience for me actually. I kept trying to p...

Re: What are you gassing for?

Musicworks have a 00-15M in stock so will give that a hoon.

Interesting info from the staff member. Due to covid-related delays they've got a backlog of 9 months for Martin stock that isn't already spoken for . I imagine it's similar for all sorts of products.

Re: What are you gassing for?

A mix of simple finger picking and strumming. I'm not doing any extremely articulated finger picking, and I'm not really worried about big projection as I'm largely playing for myself alone. In general I enjoy warm acoustic tones. Here's an example of acoustic tone and style that I really enjoy (yo...

Re: What are you gassing for?

If you can find an S model Lowden, you may never want anything else. IMG_2560.JPG Will keep an eye out . I don't mind waiting a bit for the right thing to pop up, but would really prefer something I could play first, which is a bit limiting... The Lowden's pushing your budget to another l...

Re: What are you gassing for?

I'm falling down a bit of a rabbit-hole of smaller-bodied acoustic GAS. Budget is creeping up and something in the range of a Martin 000-15M/SM is starting to look do-able. Tough part is going to be getting an opportunity to try different things out. There don't seem to be a ton of options in stock...

Re: What are you gassing for?

Contemplating a Vox MV50. Somebody (sorry, can't remember who!) had one at the CHCH gearfest and it sounded ace IMO. Hadn't really thought about it until this appeared in the MP sale, but it's the high-gain model. Still tempted for the MV50 Clean at full price which is still only $350, would just ne...

Jay, your collection is amazing. Just curious, what is it about the SA's that got you into them?
