Wow, that’s fascinating! Gilmour’s great and all, good player, tone for days etc, but I wouldn’t call myself a huge fan, don’t want to have his babies like some peeps, but yeah, crazy how all those solos just sound like him! Cool video. Makes you think, why pay all the $ for something that only kicks in as you roll your tone know down. It's like people that buy Klons and use them as a clean boost!

Has it got a signal unity point 0 marked on the unit like you see on a mixer?
Nah, it's DIY. I haven't even marked up the box!
Unity volume must depend where the gain is set as well, right?
No, doesn't seem to be. It's just REALLY LOUD.

My Jan Ray clone is like that too, so much volume on tap!
Might be by design then.
I'm tempted to just change the knob so unity is at noon!

Re: The Rockbox Boiling Point Thread

Speaking of Jan Ray/Timmy clones, I built the Coda Effects Golden Hour and it has WAY too much volume; unity is with the knob at 9am. I don't remember my original Timmy being like that. Any reason this would be the case? I feel like I need to send it to someone to diagnose for me. My Jan Ray clone ...

Had it floating around the garage for ages, but pretty sure it was from AliExpress.

I could certainly give it a go! Although you may want to have a closer look at those corners first! :problem:

Quite glad I was forced to do it in 4 pieces, the gold piping looks choice. It's just cloth piping from a craft store, but does the trick. It's only held in with staples so can replace with the proper stuff if I want.
