HLAH Reform for HOMEGROWN 2008

Post by robnobcorncob »

From the Stonerdoom forum (which took it from stuff.co.nz, seems credible?
"Kiwi rock act Head Like a Hole - famous for the hit songs Hootenanny, Comfortably Shagged and Wet Rubber - will reform to headline a Wellington music festival in March next year.

The band, who split eight years ago, will headline the Vodafone Homegrown festival, held on Wellington's Waterfront on March 14, 2009.

HLAH were known for their outrageous live performances, appearing on stage either naked, caked with mud, or covered completely in body paint.

They produced four albums over 10 years, with hits including Comfortably Shagged, Wet Rubber, Hootnanny, Juicy Lucy and the covers I’m on Fire and Summer Nights.

In a statment, the band's front man Nigel 'Booga' Beazley said the band split in 2003 for "sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll reasons”.

Head Like a Hole are the latest Kiwi band to reform, following news that Headless Chickens will reunite for a show at The Powerstation in November.

Weta will also perform two shows in November.

Vodafone Homegrown's full line-up will be released on October 6."

Yet another kiwi band I can't wait to see because I was too damn young the first time around.

Great live band! We toured with them in 2000, did about 6 dates ... they were definitely for real when it came to rock'n'roll excess.

Yeah Weta ftw, I definitely won't be missing that. Considering it's on the last day of Polytech for '08 aswell. Might aswell start summer in style!

Looks like headless chickens are reforming aswell? WTF?! November 28th I think at the powerstation and a few dates across the ditch.

Saw them at the dux in chch back in the day. Never seen that place such a hot sweaty pit jam-packed wall to wall with bogan madness. Great stuff

I think I saw them play at a Mountain Rock many years ago? Memories are a bit hazy of those shows...

A bloke I used to work with went to school with the Hidee Beast one, reckons he was certifiable even then.

Hey, I played Mountain Rock, great festival... I even got paid! :| I saw HLAH play in Palmerston North about the same time. Our band watched through the side window because we didn't have $10 each for the door charge. HLAH were loud and in various stages of undress. One of them said "I'm not taking off my shirt tonight because I haven't been working out."
