Pixies = Boston, USA.
But I think they did have a bigger impact in the UK than the USA. At least that documentary I saw makes such suggestions.

Maybe sales-wise, but in terms of musical influence, they had a much bigger impact on American music.

What about the Australian band that borrowed the intro riff to Where is My Mind? Do you remember that band? I can't remember their name
