I'd seriously consider it, but Dunedin seems like a bit of a mission.

Sabbath or Aerosmith: which would you pick to see, if you could only see one?

I've seen both, including the original line-up Sabbath (with Bill Ward) and it's actually a close call. Sabbath are way more my sort of music, but Aerosmith are awesomely entertaining. I saw them as headliners of Donnington MOR, I wasn't going to stick around, but thought I'd watch a couple of songs before leaving, I stayed for the whole set.

I would pick Aerosmith. I've always been more of a Ozzy/Rhoads fan than a Sabbath fan.

But... I'm hoping to see both, if I've got enough money for tickets!

this makes me lol so much.

They built that fucking stadium because they reckoned if they could get the promoter to do an exclusive Dunedin show then the rest of the country would come down and bring their money to Dunedin.

As you can see, most people are put off the idea of having to travel that far for a concert (ironically what we used to have to do- well still do).

To date the acts they've had at the stadium that would have national pulling power are:
-Elton John

...

and that's it in over 3 years. Thanks for bankrupting a city for a fucking rugby world cup you tosser councillors.
(Straying into politics here so /rant)

would love to see Aerosmith. Wonder if they're coming to Aus? Can't believe they've never played in NZ the whole time they've been around! Seems a bit weird

When I watched the Dazed and Confused movie on TV, they seemed to be travelling a long way for an Aerosmith concert.
And the TV is always right.
I suspect the councillors down there had a heavy 'session' whilst watching the movie then made their decision after that.
Oh and of course they probably also watched Wayne's World 2. 'Book them, and they will come'. Or build it and they will come.
Edwards and Epi LP's mainly
