I went to the SBFH gig in Welly on Thursday and it ROCKED!! \m/

I've been to a few metal gigs there now and this was the best of the bunch in my opinion. The sound was really good and not too loud even without earplugs in. Immortal looked like they were enjoying themselves and I didn't see any real aggro in the crowd. Ventured into the mosh pit on a couple of occasions but since I'm not as young as I used to be, I only lasted a couple of songs each time

Funny interview with them on Nightline:

Good show, although I think the techs and roadies were on stage nearly as long as the bandwillow13 wrote:OK who went then???? and wheres the review???

Good sound mix, volume was just right. Not as loud as Napalm Death in the same venue last year. Still, decent ear plugs ( I use Alpine Musicsafe ) helped resolve the wash of treble more clearly into individual instruments. Me likey.
Great tones, couldn't see what they were playing through but it sounded like a 5150, not quite as much of the black metal "treble on 11" rasp as you'd expect, actually a nicely balanced tone, very solid and punchy. Not big on song names so couldn't tell you what they played, but if you wanted to hear "the one about winter" chances are it was in there

The stage presence was good, lots of good metal poses, mostly standing in one spot without moving around on the fairly small stage. Good use of smoke machine and lighting, mostly a demonic red. Some good use of green and red together which looked like rotten meat. No firebreathing effects, due to the wooden ceiling being a couple of feet above their heads...
Overall a great show and well worth the $68 bucks.
