Free David Bowie/Beatles tribute gig - Wellington TONIGHT

Post by robnobcorncob »

We're skankin' it up with another gig that the polytech are putting on, heaps of bands. Plus DJs, cheap drinks. My band is on 3rd as far as I know. I think we have people doing some originals and even a 'rapping poet' ? (which makes them a rapper doesn't it rather than a poet?) and our covers are a bit 'different' to say the least.

Anyway it's at SHOOTERS ("Oh No!" I hear you say, don't worry none of us want to play there either  ) starts at 10pm free entry. We're also doing it all again tomorrow night (25/9) and it's free again etc..

If anybody DOES decide to come, track me down and say hi, I'm the young tall one with the Eclipse 8)

Well it went damn well, a lot of us got extremely drunk and had a SAMICK good time. The best part is, we're doing it all again tonight  so if you're in Wellington tonight you should really come to Shooters (cos it's free, and cheap drinks) and the bands are insanely tight/awesome (there are 6 or 7 of them I think, doing about 4-5 songs each). Some intense grooves going on with the beatles tribue bands. Samba/Afro-cuban rhythms, ska. Not to mention our reggae version of China Girl which will once again bring the house down (or many drunken males crashing to the floor).

It's all been filmed multi-angle and recorded (16 track HD from what I remember) so they'll be on youtube at a later date too.
