Annandale's a goodie too.

T-shirts that say "F*ck this, I'm going to the Annandale".

Accomodation upstairs so no painful late-night load-out required.

Literally across the road from Jackson's Rare Guitars!

And yes, Australian girls.

Dirty and rough.

And if you get lost you end up on a long wharf over the Tasman Sea telling a man you're Danish and feeling remarkably seasick after all those vodka's from the espy....

Um there was a band playing and a lot of 'queer' looks from the largte gents from Australia...

Nice tall stage though I think. Although my memory of that is hazy to say the least.

Yep, that's a pretty good description of touring. Especially overseas - feel those everyday concerns and responsibilities melt off your shoulders ... for a few weeks anyway, until you get home

Pretty much, NZ Music month is a joke, shitty bands on every night of the week so that no one can book good shows.

Good shit on your tour, hope it all goes well and you have a rad time.

The espy has two main band rooms
The Gershwin room and the public bar
The Gershwin room is quite large and really you don’t want to play there unless you’re the lemonheads
the public bar stage is really good, you can walk in off the street and see a band pretty much anytime, Tuesday nights I often went to see Paul Williamson and his Hammond quartet,
That was six years ago but I doubt it has changed much
I wouldn’t call the espy rough, its probably one of the more friendly pubs in Melbourne, frequented by many of the well to do south of the yarra types and a few of the real Melbournians from the northern side, the west doesn’t rate unless your in a posse.
Last time I was there the beer came in a "pot" and cost $2.80 the extra 60cents was because the public bar doesn’t do door deals and actually pay the bands that play there from the enormous amount of cash that punters who drink exchange for said golden juice, perhaps some of the Auckland greedy parasites who run band venues might learn something from this establishment. I don’t mind paying a few cents extra for a beer if I can see the band for free but paying 10bux to get in then forking out 7bux for a domestic beer will kill the scene imo
Anyway I would imagine you’re playing the Gershwin room on a door deal on a Saturday night
If your lucky and you fill the room you will be laughing, who are you playing with?
The ska scene in Melbourne is pretty happening, good luck dude; I will give my friends a heads up.
Try to get some promo stuff to inpress and beat mag; they will ignore you unless you take out full page ads
Do it! it will pay off

Other great venues in Melbourne are the tote and the club
Fill the club and retire

You are a hypocritical, whining bitch. F*$k off and die Anthony.
