Neil Young for BDO 09
Can't say I'm over excited. I have been a fan and would enjoy a greatest hits set. Somehow I get the feeling it will be more obscure self indulgent preaching. Anyways I'll be there regardless, if i can sit through the White Stripes, I can sit through anything

Is there a list of all the acts going to be at bdo that have been anounced so far?
I cannot brain today, I have the dumb.
Re: Neil Young for BDO 09
On a good day with a hot band Mr Young can still crank it up. His acoustic stuff doesn't really do it for me (We were helpless, helpless, heeelplesss.... ). What happened to Crazy Horse BTW?
As an odd synchronicity thing the ticket stub to his Addington showground gig 25 years ago fell out of a book I opened the other day.

I'm not a huge fan of Crazy Horse, but give me On The Beach any day of the week, classic album! Would be cool to see him but I'm holding out for another round of Mars Volta. Or something like Genghis Tron or the CYNIC reunion. My Bloody Valentine would be enough reason for me to get there.raz wrote:On a good day with a hot band Mr Young can still crank it up. I couldn't name a single Neil Young song, don't think I've ever heard one, or if I have I didn't know it. Still think it's cool, but there are other bands I'd rather see headline.
I'd love Children Of Bodom, Avenged Sevenfold, Black Label Society or Black Stone Cherry to come down. BDO just isn't worth the price of admission for me right now when I factor in travel and accommodation.

If there's anything decent in the announcements then you might just be on.robnobcorncob wrote:Lets car pool and get a group of us to go from Wellington, how about it?hamo wrote:BDO just isn't worth the price of admission for me right now when I factor in travel and accommodation.

Type O Negative do a cool cover of Cinnamin Girlhamo wrote:I couldn't name a single Neil Young song, don't think I've ever heard one,

Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.

Re: Neil Young for BDO 09
Neil's a legend, but IMO a weird choice for what is basically a youth concert.
He hit a chord that rocked the spinet and disappeared into the infinite ...
Re: Neil Young for BDO 09
Ah but is forgetting the evolution of such events Rog - first it's BDO, then promotors BDO - all the way to the bank - as in mu$ic -

You can't do THAT on stage!
