The Mysteronz 9.6.2007

Post by STRAYFALCON »

well captain its only just now that Ive had time to sit back and actually throw through some comments with regards to that gig of yourz that saturday nite :-)

Well well well Captain firstly I must say it was a well organised nite, the crowd was buzzing and I certainly was with the anticipation of seeing you guys play live yet again and I have to say as always it was worth the wait

from the first set right on through to the last set ..... it was electric ! the crowd was rocking! everyone was up on the dance floor and there was something there for everyone

There were a number of "special" moments for me that nite with regards to your sets!!!!!!!!!!

As you know my all time fave "Modern Rock " some Bowie/Brian Eno/ etc
a high light was Leza Corban performing " RADAR LOVE " now that lifted the roof off the house ! Lezas opening on Acoustic guitar then "ditching" the acoustic as you guys came on thru....... absolutely floored me!

now for me watchin in the audience the sound was .....Superb!!!!!!

Joined onstage by "NIGEL RUSSELL" ala..... Dance macarbe..... car crash set..... the Mysterons went onto rock it up yet again another level

now seeing Nigel Russell perform that song ........ see me go..... by the way debued at no1 in 1979 for the Screaming mee mees ..... sighhhhhh
did it for me...... he ooozesssss KOOLNESS..... the guy is one of those rare dudes that just naturally ooozes cool!....... he rocked

Daniel Barnes I felt was in excellent form ........ his guitar playing and vocals were excellent....... hes a rocker no doubting that as is ya keys man....... Simon.......bass.....greg

as for you Captain....... you're guitar playing for me.........evokes and inspires...... your execution..... tone..... touch ...... feel excites me

you're an exciting guitarist to both listen to and watch, you have an awesome dynamic about your sound that catapults me back in time, and it was a pleasure being able to catch you guys live that nite at the classic......... your sister Leza Corban has a wonderful soulful earthy gritty voice I absolutely love it!

as for Sophie your other female singer......... for me she reminds me of a very young Siouxsie Sou :-) great!

as for the crowd...... well it was obvious wasnt it?........ standing room only people dancing and the place was rocking....... a full house on the nite........ superb and fantastic, I'll post some pix that I took of that nite real soon! :-)

Steady on mate, we're just good friends OK? ;)

Did you notice the other band that played? That Mojovibe blues band? Talk about a warm up act. They fuken torched the place!!!

Oh that's right, you're in it!!

In all honesty, Dan and I watch you guys from off stage and we were alternating between "Shit they're good" and "OH SHIT!!! THEY'RE GOOD!!!" How the hell do you follow that?

So I will concede that for my money, that show really was the best we've ever performed but all credit to youse buggers for ensuring we lifted our game.

And a crowd of drunken crazed dancers down the front helped too. A bloody good night, eh?

Wanna do it again?

:D
