Thats fair enough too, and no arguement from me re: the calibre and originality of the guys he's had in the band in the past.
I thought the same thing last time I saw Dylan's band live.
He had Denny Freeman and Stu Kimball on guitar.
I had heard Freeman in the past really tear it up, but in this band he was a quite pants IMHO.... and so was Kimball...
especially when you comapre them to Charlie Sexton and Larry Campbell who were in what I consider his best ever touring band.
Matter of taste though I guess.

A real blues player wouldn't use them though.BG wrote:want the tab?bluesbass wrote:Ok, I'll take your word for it, but what made them GM runs... as opposed to just "blues" runs?BG wrote: Mostly the fact he was doing note for note GM runs at one point (you can't do those by accident )
Saw the gig in Hamilton. Thoroughly competent band and enjoyed it very much.
I do agree with your comments about the blanket over the amp though. It sounded like great tone but listened through a wall at times. Vocals were a bit low in the mix as well but these things are all just personal taste and the sound engineer obviously has different taste to mine on these matters. I didn't let that spoil the show for me.
The drum sound was one of the best I've heard!
Great that they come out to the foyer to meet the fans after. Even greater that the bassist and drummer turned up and jammed at the local blues club afterwards.
I didn't get where I am today by understanding humour.......

Agreed, the snare sounded amazing. Really tight, but still really ballsy.CJ wrote: The drum sound was one of the best I've heard!
