Re: John Mayer, TSB Arena Wellington
WTF? That qualifies for a concert these days?!?!??
Pearl Jam played for a damn eternity compared to that! Far out, I'd be spewing. The guy has a few albums under his belt - surely 1.5 hours isn't out of the question for $100/person.

I don't get the whole 'I paid my money I want it to be longer than it was' mentality. I don't hear that as much with movies or with songs, although sometimes I've heard people say that about shorter albums. I'm more interested in hearing what the artist themselves want to present to me. I've only been disapointed when they choose to play for way too long and I leave

Yeah, that goes off on the DVD. I love is playing on that trio stuff, even if his SRV influence is a bit too obvious (he has SRV tatoo'd on his shoulder for goodness sake.twistedthoughts wrote: Who Did You Think I Was is badass.
Yep.Did he also play 'Waiting on the World to Change'?
Yeah, I couldn't have stayed there much longer than I did. I'm glad he only did one encore. Satriani was 3 hours long, and while it was a great show, I was done after 2 hours. I stayed, but I was over it. And as I say, that was a good show, but even Satriani can't make a three hour long guitar solo stay interesting.I've only been disapointed when they choose to play for way too long and I leave

Looking at that setlist I'm glad I didn't go. No Steve Jordan on drums either. Lame.handlefras wrote:Ok well heres what I can remember of the wellington setlist, not exactly the right order- I got a bit bored in the middle:
No Such Thing
Crossroads
Vultures
Slow Dancing in a Burning Room
*Perfectly Lonely*
Stop This Train
Daughters
Who Says
All we ever do is say Goodbye
Half of my Heart/Dreams (Fleetwood Mac)
(encore)
Heartbreak Warfare
Gravity
Did he also play 'Waiting on the World to Change'?

There is a middle ground though, surely. 10 songs plus an encore? Give me a break!thehenderson wrote:I don't get the whole 'I paid my money I want it to be longer than it was' mentality. At least when they play too long you have the option of leaving early.
Re: John Mayer, TSB Arena Wellington
What no 'Neon' and 'Your Body is a Wonderland' in the set list?
You must feel ripped off
