Re: The Checks
video is crack-up, album is great. Listen to it on headphones in the dark with a glass of wine and you'll totally get it. So different to the last two albums, yet still uniquely them, with new styles and sounds emerging as well that I've never heard from them before, and didn't expect to hear. Black Frog reminds me of Them Crooked Vultures

That's a spot on description of that single. I haven't heard the album yet but I'm keen to.druz15 wrote:video is crack-up, album is great. Re: The Checks
Which ready to die or Candyman shimmer? I think shimmer is the official single but Ready to Die seems to be getting play on the rock

Yeah didn't know what to think when I first heard that song, but loving it in the context of the album. The title pretty much sums up it's aesthetic quality perfectlyJimmy V wrote:Candyman Shimmer

Re: The Checks
Damn I'm liking that last track, "My Brother" - epic psychedelic feature-length tune. Thanks for the album link.
Too many guitars, not enough talent.

Re: The Checks
The album took me by surprise a bit. Was not expecting such a change in direction. But that being said it's still very them but with some groovy new sounds. Going to see them tonight in Oakura! Chur whooooooo

Re: The Checks
jealous they're not coming down South, and unless they do a national tour in Jan or Feb may not get to see them again for a long time

Re: The Checks
Their Fender Blues combo just left my workshop, fixed on the spot.
I am listening to "Deadly Summer Sway" album they gave me.
Like their stuff.
