Re: Review of the Kemper Profiling Amp!
Imagine turning up to a gearfest and effectively being able to take all of the amps home with you! Of course, as hamo mentioned it could get to a point where everyone turned up with their profiling amp and no one brought anything to profile.

Better yet (or worse, depending on your point of view), once they take off and people start to share them on the net. "Hmm, need some new tones, might just download myself a Triple Recto."matman wrote:Imagine turning up to a gearfest and effectively being able to take all of the amps home with you! Or maybe Kemper (or a third party) start striking deals with artists? You could buy the exact tone from Rivers Cuomo's famous Mesa, or Slash's original AFD tone (assuming these amps are still around of course). The possibilities are tantalising and scary at the same time.

Yeah the possibilities are endless if they can make it a bit less funny looking
As with all modelling tech though, I think there will always be space to co-exist with "real" amps. I don't think anyone truly iconic has gone to the modelling route 100%, and quite often that's what it really takes for it to become entrenched in the music masses' psyche.

Re: Review of the Kemper Profiling Amp!
There is an awesome 5150 patch floating about on the interwebs for the Kemper and it's fueling my increasing GAS for one of these The HD500 is much more practical but there is just something SO cool and exciting about this little gadget. This + a tech 21 midi mouse patch switcher would be so much fun.
Gah I gotta stop haha.

I used to own a Line 6 HD147. If I can put up with my band mates referring to my amp as 'that big gay purple glowing toaster' I can handle anything

Re: Review of the Kemper Profiling Amp!
Am I imagining things, or did I see on Facebook that this has found its way to Zorran?

He must have got one from elsewhere - I've still got one. Tried to return it but shop was closed yesterday.
