Klank is still kicking around and releasing records. I Have a few of theirs. Circle of Dust just got a big remaster/reissue or material (Klayton/Celldweller dude is all about the re-releases right now). Actually happened to give Mortal's Nu-En-Jin a listen through a few weeks ago, someone recommended it to me and I really enjoyed it. The cover art looked real familiar, and I realised I had bought the CD 10 years earlier and hadn't managed to listen to it, haha. Out of that group of guys/collaborations, my absolute favourite would be AP2, the second Argyle Park album. Some brilliant songs and textures on that one.

There was a game that was heavily advertised, can't remember what it was called, I don't think it was ever released in the end, but the music was by 16 Volt, which took me a while to track down, but they became a fast fave. Fairly keen on Spahn Ranch too.

I seem to remember that like NIN they started out as a pansy synth pop band. Can't quite recall tho.
Ministry started out as a synth pop band (albums With Sympathy and a bit of Twitch), NIN didn't really (although Trent was in an synth pop band before he started NIN).
Skinny Puppy was kinda the same, some members were in Images in Vogue (synth pop) and started puppy as a side project.

yeah, Trent doing Quake was pretty cool. Funnily enough, my industrial/metal band has done a cover of Red Alert's Hell March a couple of times. Kinda a mash up of Hell March 1 and Hell March 2. Fun tune.
Been trying to remember this one for ages, but Carmageddon... wasn't that entirely Demanufacture in instrumental form?

I'm a big fan of the first 3ish albums. I keep buying their stuff, but it's never really regained what I liked about them.

Yeah, Carmageddon had Fear Factory all over it. The new Carmageddon that got released last year or so has an Australian band Maximum Sexy Pigeon, and they're pretty cool too.

Super late to this thread, but actually have a lot of this stuff on original vinyl. Would have been imports back in the day. Most of it I find fairly unlistenable now, though doubtlessly I thought it cool at the time. Suicide, DAF, Blurt, and the Pop group anyone ? MX80 sound, the Residents ?
