Slash for president

The recent Slash concert was perfect.

Check this out from his lost decade:

Not only does he like a top hat, but he has a nice ear for melody.

His tone is scary yet saucy - like getting your leg shagged by a Rottweiler (in case you're wondering what to do, fake an orgasm).

Is there any love out there?

agreed his lead lines are melodic and add to the song instead of just showing off, you can hear the obvious joe perry influence, the first solo album with all the different singers was great because of its differences per track, wonder how many other guitarists could write and play such variety, also his sense of overdubbing and partnering with other players is fantastic, the GNR stuff had so many layers and guitar parts that just worked so well together.

If you mean the USA, he can't be president, because he was not born there (Birminghamish, UK).
If you mean this forum, he can't be president because I don't think he would be very good at php.
He could be president of the silly hats club, since SRV is no longer with us.

Great guitar player though, he gets my vote for that :-)

It is not often on this forum that we explore the legality around presidential nominations. We should do this more often, thank you Mark.

I've heard some Russian ladies had a slash for the President...

But yeah, great guitarist and probably the coolest look out there.

Went to it. $59 on GrabOne. Bargain mate.
Fantastic show.
First impression for a "better than expected" night was Myles Kennedy. I’m neutral to him on record (eg. he ain't Axl). His first note was right on pitch and he enunciates clearly (eg. he ain't Vince Neil). Good frontman.
Bass player has star quality. Total rock star 80s hair metal stage presence. He sorta carries the band on stage.
Rhythm guitarist is innocuous. Job description: don’t upstage the boss.
One GN’R tune, “Nightrain” rocking.
One epic Slash solo. Don’t know the name of the song. Think it’s from the last but one album.
Slash for Prime Minister?

Devilskin was opener. First time seeing them. Drop tuned 'modern rock' with growl vocals is not my thing. But I enjoyed their set. Front woman has good stage presence. Scott Ian on guitar. And another Scott Ian on bass guitar.

Fun night of silly beards and silly hats.

Slash gets my vote. He can churn out riffs and songs too. I saw his chch show in 2010, what a treat. GnR, Velvet Revolver and his solo stuff. Slash and friends is still a highly enjoyable album.

I find him a bit boring, not in a ‘isn’t a great player’ sense, just not exciting. Kinda hard rocks’ John Mayer. But he is definitely one of the last bastions of Rock’n’roll star that hasn’t turned into (too much) of a self-caricature (like say Gene from Kiss, or Vince from Crüe, or DLR). So marks for that.

Mrs got me tickets for Xmas... muchly enjoyed, though I don’t really know any of his solo stuff, it was a good riffs & blues rock.

Well Slash is the reason I play guitar, so yeah I'd probably say yes. First thing I taught myself on my new electric guitar my parents bought me was the intro to Sweet Child 'o' Mine.

Yep, mother bear and I went up for the concert, loved it. Shes more into Myles, but me obviously Slash. We were in the good seats up front on Slashes side so could see well.

I enjoyed the fact they only played one gunners tune (one of my favorites too) and focused on the solo stuff a bit more this time around.

Sparse stage, Slash seemed to only have a couple of his wahs laying about (which Myles tripped on), couldnt spy any amp heads or anything.

Devilskin put on a great show. Couldn't quite make out Tonys amp model, but looked like a DSL half stack. Even rocked a Zakk Wylde Bullseye for a bit which was cool.

he looks so damn uncomfortable half bent down, and has to hold his guitar up to play half of his stuff, just maybe raise the strap a bit, its a wonder he hasn't got issues with pains
