Really enjoyed Everyone Is Here.
That whole 7 Worlds Collide thing was fantastic too. Getting Eddie Vedder and Johnny Marr etc down here was amazing.

Absolutely. Though if you hadn't mentioned them I probably wouldn't be playing them in my head right now.

I have Six Months in a Leaky Boat competing with She Will Have Her Way.

She Will Have a Leaky Boat? Or Six Months in Her (way)?!

Great, great songwriters. Together Alone is my favourite album!

Big fan here too.

The Finn Brothers album is very good. My brother and I played Everyone is Here at my Grandad's funeral. Very appropriate song. Especially the lyric: "What does it mean when you belong to someone, when you're born with a name, and you carry it on"...

The live 7 Worlds Collide DVD is amazing (the first one, c2001?). A few more songs than the CD. Worth grabbing a copy if you can find it.

Neil's solo albums from 1999 and 2001 are outstanding. Those songs get stuck in your head for days.
Nothing to see here.

Huge respect for Tim as a performer and writer of some wonderful songs:
No Thunder, No Fire, No Rain; Parihaka; I See Red and Hope I Never come immediately to mind.

But Neil....
I think his body of work comprises the greatest collection of Pop songs since Lennon and McCartney.
There. I said it.

Everyone is Here is also a favourite at Slowy's
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

My daughter learn '6 months on a leaky boat' on her uke.... and sung it as '6 moths on a leafy boat'

Love early Split Enz. Tim's lyrics were eclectic and out there along with Phil Judd's crazy head.

Neil came along and brought pop into a band that was very artie...

Attended a cocktail evening at Il Casino with the Enz when they were doing their 25th anniversary tour.
Tim was the more genial of the two.

Neil is massively underrated.

Great song writer.

Like say Neil Young and Tom Petty.

Does he have the sophistication (modulations, key changes etc) of Brian Wilson, McCartney or Bacharach, though? Doesn't matter, when he's that good.

There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

but, correct me if I`m wrong. Stevie Nicks looks better in a dress made from pure lace curtain.

I'm afraid you have the advantage of me, I have never seen Neil Finn in a pure lace curtain dress.

I really like "Suffer Never" of the 1995 Finn Brothers album.

Neil's album "One Nil" was produced with Wendy and Lisa. That's a lot cooler than most NZ musicians.

I think he is a very good songwriter but would rate Shayne Carter higher.

Shayne Carter better at writing songs than N Finn? Nice trolling, sir.
