The katana 2x12 is stunningly good value and I really like the speakers, greenback like and option of closed or open back!

The Harley Benton ones are great too if you can find them in stock!!

I've got a Mesa 2x12, with a Marshall AFD100 sitting on top of it and it does the business.

Only thing thing I'm not sure on is its a bit directional - I usually have my combo leant well back so its pointing at my head at gigs. The 2x12 with a head on top isnt easy to lean back, so its point at my knees - wonder if an open back would have better spread.

That's precisely what I do. Mic up and send to FOH. Thinking of getting one of those little stands so I can lean it back.

I put my 2x12 on its side so it's vertical, night and day difference!! I wanted a vertical 2x12 but the stars didn't align...

You're always a step ahead!
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I could make you a 2x12 that doesn't lean back but points above your knees :) I've had one in planning for awhile.

Grab a Marshall 2061x if you see one come up, love my one. Running a greenback and a V30.
Loving it so far

I'm intrigued and somewhat interested in this Bg. I'll be in touch if nothing pops up locally.

No worries :) externally it will look like a 2x12 but with an internal baffle at about 40 degrees so pointing way more up to you. I was contemplating one that combined both, so 1x12 straight and 1x12 angled... Not sure yet.

I'll be making prototypes so....

Mine was built by someone, can't remember who but it's a nice looking box. I'm a sucker for a nice tidy box

It has a couple of Celestion Rocket 50w speakers in it;they're nicely broken in now and to me it sounds exactly how a good 2x12 cab should sound
