I saw this the other day online,

Very cool with the goldfoils, 21 fret neck so I'm guessing Jazz with jag appointments?
After salivating on that one for a while I then found this,

Vintage 60s jag hulk restored into this Harmony foil equipped monster. That's the next build I'm aiming for. Totally killer.
I'd like to think the lower bout 3 switch plate is an on off switch for each pickup which would be awesome.

Joined the club.

G&L Doheny.

On a budget.

Plays well.

Bridge is flush to the body.

The controls ae quite cool.

With amp - pedals all set the same for the Tele / Strat, the G&L had some harshness that was annoying.

Turns out unless you want to push everything hard, rolling off the treble and bass controls clean up and bring a sound that is so pleasing.

Very comfy neck. Fits my hand nicely.

Yep, G&L controls should rarely be wide open. There's too much tweakability to waste it like that.

Having had it for a few months now, you’re completely on point!!

So versatile. Going from a thick gainy sound to a jangly pop sound by only using the knobs is cool and quite the learning curve.

Can’t see how that gets a better break angle than the fender option ?

Is that the main issue they have? friction at the bridge part is always gonna be an issue with that type of system isn't it? better off putting a strat trem like the vega trem on it :mental:

Low break angle is one issue
Tubing stability is the most griped about but tbh I think the OG fender properly rocking system maintains tube excellently
