Re: Offset chat
I saw this the other day online,
After salivating on that one for a while I then found this, Vintage 60s jag hulk restored into this Harmony foil equipped monster. That's the next build I'm aiming for. Totally killer.
I'd like to think the lower bout 3 switch plate is an on off switch for each pickup which would be awesome.
Very cool with the goldfoils, 21 fret neck so I'm guessing Jazz with jag appointments? After salivating on that one for a while I then found this, Vintage 60s jag hulk restored into this Harmony foil equipped monster. That's the next build I'm aiming for. Totally killer.

Re: Offset chat
Joined the club.
G&L Doheny.
On a budget.
Plays well.
Bridge is flush to the body.
The controls ae quite cool.
With amp - pedals all set the same for the Tele / Strat, the G&L had some harshness that was annoying.
Turns out unless you want to push everything hard, rolling off the treble and bass controls clean up and bring a sound that is so pleasing.
Very comfy neck. Fits my hand nicely.

Re: Offset chat
Not often I get the chance to post in the offset chat. I quite like it.

Good for playing classic Nicaraguan surf music?
(10 points if you get there reference without googling).

Yep, G&L controls should rarely be wide open. There's too much tweakability to waste it like that.
Don't talk to me about failure; sometimes I even fail to disappoint myself.

Re: Offset chat
Having had it for a few months now, you’re completely on point!!
So versatile. Going from a thick gainy sound to a jangly pop sound by only using the knobs is cool and quite the learning curve.

Re: Offset chat
What’s current favoured best JM/Jag trem assembly amongst the offset chatters ?
Fender USA ?
Mastery ?
Other ?
For some reason I’ve got right off mastery. Really don’t know why.
Maybe it’s one of those things where imperfect is somehow better.

Re: Offset chat
Is that the main issue they have? friction at the bridge part is always gonna be an issue with that type of system isn't it? better off putting a strat trem like the vega trem on itStrummersOfThunder wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 12:14 pm Can’t see how that gets a better break angle than the fender option ?

Tubing stability is the most griped about but tbh I think the OG fender properly rocking system maintains tube excellently
