This body shape gate keeping is quite disturbing, what if Keon's guitar identifies as offset? you can't deny its lived experience!
I knew this would be a fun thing to poke with a stick.
Thanks Strummers. I will probably do the vise one of these days. In the meantime, I wrapped the trem arm with tape and it seems to do the trick (for now). It's the swinginess that bothered me + it detached so easily. But the tape is working for now.
I am thoroughly enjoying playing the JM. Makes me wonder what took me so long to take the plunge
Yep used plumbers tape for a while
Tis indeed the correct instrument. Has been my number one for the better part of the past decade
I do think they benefit from some tweaks , like most guitars.
They , and other offsets, get a lot of flack for stability etc but honestly my avri has never missed a beat, stays in tune with fairly robust abuse and just gets better and better each year.
I agree and look forward to playing this JM for many years to come. Thanks for all your advise, they will be a handy reference for a new entrant to the world of vintage-spec'd offsets like me.
My AO60s Jazz & ‘64 Jazz are far more stable than my semi floating trem Strat. And that’s with vintage bridges. The trem arms are far better and I’m also tall, 6’2”, so I find the offset far more comfortable to play.

Theres something about the weirdness of the Mosrite shape that gives me GAS, have been tempted a few times to buy the Harley Benton copy...

It’s got strong strat on acid vibes.
If Salvador Dali designed a guitar.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll spend thousands on fishing equipment he'll use for a bit, then get bored and move onto something else.
