Loose Tuner
Bugger, one of the tuners on my LP is very loose when unstrung, stays in tune perfectly but its a bit of a concern. Do I need to buy a full set? I whipped it off but can't see any adjustment on it.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Is it a Kluson type with the pressed steel cover?
If so there are no adjustments as such, but you can pop the cover off and bend the bearing lugs a bit so that they tighten up on the shaft a bit more.
If you replace them, go for Gotoh's Kluson style tuners. They're miles better than anything else.

Re: Loose Tuner
So if the problem is when it is unstrung then put a string on it.bluesgeek wrote:Bugger, one of the tuners on my LP is very loose when unstrung, stays in tune perfectly but its a bit of a concern. Do I need to buy a full set? I whipped it off but can't see any adjustment on it.

Hahaha, Some guy at the battle of the bands tried that......B45-12 wrote:No mate - go the Keith Richards route and leave a string off your guitar!
He suffered. Couldnt work out the notes and stuff up the fret board. And I dont think he realised that for the dynamics of what he was playing he needed the string below the one he was on So funny tho.
