I had a similar Strat that I stripped & left as natural. I used black plastics.

It's hanging on my wall so I'll let natural sunlight finish that job!Thewilltopowerrock wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 11:02 amAll it needs now is the neck and headstock neck a darker tintMikeC wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 9:42 amI just oil it with fretboard oil which is clear (untinted) & contains no mineral oil. It does look especially good in these photos.Thewilltopowerrock wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 8:54 am Very nice Mike. Have you done anything to darken the Rosewood? Looks great.![]()

That looks nice Mike

Still thinking I'm more leaning towards a relic'ed finish. Obviously was originally sunburst, but I'm not sure I want that. I've been thinking about it for a while

My fav would probably be a nice two tone burst, then Oly, then gold mist whatever it was called.

I too have Strat that needs new colour. Thinking Nitro Surf or Seafoam. Got a lot of red and black. Nice balance.

Colour is pretty close to how I had imagined, waiting for lacquer to harden now.

Re: Favourite Strat colour with rosewood board?
It was supposed to be close to a vintage (slightly yellowed) Olympic white (although it’s got a cream hue) Sort of like this picture, it’s not perfect but close enough for me.
