A Little Thunder pickup

Discovered this while browsing online. Basically an octaver built into a neck pickup. Would be interested to see if you could get any decent metal tones out of it, although my guess is probably not. If it sounded convincing though it could be a cool option for people like myself who don't really want to own a bass, but might need to quickly teach a bass line to a student. Maybe I should just grab an OC-3...

I wonder if onboard guitar effects modules will become more popular in the future?

Quite clever. Seems mostly well designed, although it seems like you could accidentally switch modes quite easily if you touched the pickup while playing.
