Affordable(but not shit) Filtertron type pickups
Hi all,
I have an Eastwood 12 string which is a decent guitar let down by terrible pickups. The guitar sounds nice and chimy when played acoustically but plugged in it's too hot and dark to let all that shimmer through.
Any recommendations for a low output, extremely chimy replacement pickup?

GFS Liverpools? https://www.guitarfetish.com/search.asp ... =liverpool
I put a set in a Gretsch 5120 I had which had similar dark and muddy pickups, was like the proverbial blanket was lifted!

If your pickup has 1 set of screw in pole pieces try taking them out. I’d love to know the results if you do, doesn’t get much cheaper than that!
This guy likes it! (Although he just raises them
Up and drops the pickup)

Is it a hollow body? put clear plastic tubing on the pot shafts and feed it through to remove and re-install, easy!rickenbackerkid wrote:good question! it would be a pig to get them out so I'm not sure.

I've got a pair of gretsch blacktop filtertrons if ya keen? The wires have been cut short, but plenty there to solder new wire to, lacking screws and springs and they will need different rings to what you've likely got there already. Pay postage and 'pass on' a wee donation to the forum and they're yours.rickenbackerkid wrote:Hi all,
