Homemade P90 Dog ear shims

Post by IMOCD »

Absolutely no fekin way I'm going to pay $42 & shipping from guitar parts for a couple of shims. Looking for options for homemade ones. I'm thinking neoprene or similar material.... Any thoughts? Cheers.

Be careful that it doesn't react with the finish...
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that. Finish is satin poly, so would this still be an issue?

cut them out of wood and paint them black
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Absolutely, but my worry is do you need something with a bit of spring in it?
