I object to the refusal of any of you to accept that Telecasters have a place in surf rock.
There is such a thing as too many wigglesticks in one band.
Rob
Ahem.
1. yes teles are allowed in surf.
2. I actually have a telemaster bridge pickup in my JM to prove it
3. Also when i FIRST started playing surf i used a telecaster.
4. At no stage have I said telecasters dont belong in surf music, they just make great ironing boards. The two arent mutually exclusive.
5. Thank you come again

Is this some kind of upmarket "Thats what she said"???
How can I be sure I'm here?
The pills that I've been taking confuse me...
Can I suggest a compromise of using a Tele as a bread board instead. it is roughly the right shape and Rob could use a nice one for his lovely-looking sourdough. No danger of melting the finish onto his shirt (poly) or setting fire to the house (nitro).
Personally, I draw the line at trems on basses, I have seen those too. But a guitar without a trem is like beer without chips...you can do without, but it is so much better when you don't.

amen brother. Hard tail = hard fail.
Absolutely , a telecaster makes a GREAT bread board.
Also my nan taught me you could press flowers between two tele bodies VERY effectively.
They are SUCH a versatile guitar.
