Calling all Lead Guitarists!
We are on the search to find a lead guitarist, to be a part of something great!
Currently, we have one exceptional singer/songwriter, called Katastrophic, and me the manager.
Katastrophic, has currently been performing by herself on the guitar, but we have decided that we need an exceptional guitarist to add to the mix. Folk with a shot of Rock and Roll and a twist of the blues is our tune, with many original songs and covers being performed. This year, we are planning on creating some more great music, make some money and have an excitingly awesome year!
Katastrophic is playing at a festival in February, so if we can find our exceptional guitarist 'tout de suite', then you will have an opportunity, to play in front of a couple of hundred people straight off the bat!!
So ideally, our exceptional guitarist, will have great guitar skills, a love for all things music, laid back, friendly, sociable, and preferably a little eccentric (in a good way).
If this sounds like you, please give me (Tash) a call/txt on 021 02628308 or send me an email natasha.lee.prendergast@gmail.com.

How close to Ekatahuna are you based?

Re: Calling all Lead Guitarists!
It actually sounds like a attractive proposition. It would be nice to know where though.
Oh and hear some tunes.
Good luck.

Re: Calling all Lead Guitarists!
No location details?
Seems like a Katastrophic error on the manager's part.
Get it? It's funny because the OP's name is Katastrophic? I worked the name into a sentence which resulted in the intense hilarity you're experiencing right now.
When you retell this brilliant piece of intelligent humour to your friends, be sure to explain in advance that Katastrophic is spelled with a K. It won't be nearly as funny otherwise.
You're welcome.

On another tack... odd, being a "lead guitarist". Do many of you guys have "lead" and "rhythm" guitarists or do you just take turns, depending on the song?

Re: Calling all Lead Guitarists!
A lot of bands have that two "co-guitarist" relationship, sharing duties; others have defined lead and rhythm roles. Me, I'm generally the only one, so I do both, sometimes both at the same time as there's often little to distinguish between the two; and often lead or rhythm is only defined by the level in the mix; and that is determined by whether or not somebody else is soloing or singing. I get just as much enjoyment out of being a sideman playing chords, fills, and riffs in the background as I do taking a solo. I'm all about the song and try to do whatever is best for the song.Vince wrote:On another tack... odd, being a "lead guitarist". Metallica are a good example of a lead and rhythm guitarist setup.Vince wrote:Fuck, you mean I've moved to the wrong bloody town?crowbgood1 wrote:Who said Auckland bro... all the good muso's are based in the 'greater' Ekatahuna area these days. It's the new Gore!

ACDC and Guns n Roses are pretty good examples too, where those separate roles are very clear.Polar Bear wrote:Metallica are a good example of a lead and rhythm guitarist setup.Vince wrote:Fuck, you mean I've moved to the wrong bloody town?crowbgood1 wrote:Who said Auckland bro... all the good muso's are based in the 'greater' Ekatahuna area these days. Re: Calling all Lead Guitarists!
Ha! I always think of the Stones, where they both don't play lead really... Or the Darkness, where they both very much do..
