Altered States are a post-hardcore/rock/metal/punk band based on the North Shore. Influences included Deftones, Thrice, Alexisonfire, Killswitch Engage, Incubus, At The Drive In, Mars Volta, Sparta, Alice In Chains, Perihpery, Thursday, Parkway Drive, Iron Maiden, AFI, Enter Shikari, Refused, Cobra Khan and a bazillion more.

Older songs here. Have "past participle of get" heavier since then.

Basssist required - 4/5 string or more fine. Drop C tuning. Must have decent gear (i.e amp loud enough to keep up with double kicks and 2x 100w stacks), transport and means to support weekly pratice... i.e $15 =) Practice in Takapuna weeknights (Tues or Wed). Suit someone mid 20's to mid 30's. Backing vocals a bonus, not essential. Plenty of contacts for gigging regularly.

Sense of humour a must. No desires for world domination, just gigs, recording and good times with good music.
